CANADA STOCKS-TSX opens flat as energy sector slips, banks rise
TORONTO Dec 31 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index was little changed on Wednesday as a drop in the price of oil that pulled down energy stocks was largely offset by small gains in financial shares.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index was down 5.75 points, or 0.04 percent, at 14,634.29 shortly after the open. (Reporting by Allison Martell; Editing by Jeffrey Benkoe)
