TORONTO Nov 2 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index opened slightly higher on Monday, helped by a rebound in Valeant Pharmaceuticals International Inc but weighed by resource stocks as commodity prices fell.

The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index was up 11.94 points, or 0.09 percent, at 13,541.11 shortly after the open. Eight of its 10 main groups rose. (Reporting by Alastair Sharp; Editing by Chizu Nomiyama)
