CANADA STOCKS-TSX edges higher in early trade led by energy

TORONTO, Nov 3 (Reuters) - Canada’s main stock index edged higher on Tuesday, led by gains in the heavyweight energy sector after U.S. crude oil rallied, while Valeant Pharmaceuticals International Inc built on Monday’s sharp rebound.

The Toronto Stock Exchange’s S&P/TSX composite index was up 26.74 points, or 0.20 percent, at 13,649.75. The index had briefly dipped into negative territory. (Reporting by Fergal Smith; Editing by Chizu Nomiyama)
