CANADA STOCKS-TSX slips as broad declines offset resource gains
TORONTO, July 28 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index opened slightly lower on Thursday, with losses for banks and consumer stocks offsetting gains for resource sectors.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index was down 18.73 points, or 0.13 percent, at 14,527.81 shortly after the open. Eight of its 10 main sectors fell. (Reporting by Alastair Sharp Editing by W Simon)
