CANADA STOCKS-TSX opens lower as bullion drop weighs on gold shares

TORONTO, Sept 12 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index
opened lower on Thursday as a slump in the bullion price hit
shares of gold miners and concerns about the U.S. Federal
Reserve's monetary policy direction weighed on sentiment.
    The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index
 was down 61.28 points, or 0.48 percent, at 12,764.14
shortly after the open.
