Tropical Storm Barry, which made landfall on Thursday along the coast of Veracruz, Mexico, has weakened into a tropical depression, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said.

Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 35 miles per hour (55 km/h) with higher gusts, the NHC said, adding that Barry was forecast to dissipate on Thursday night.
