April 23 (Reuters) - U.S. stock index futures pointed to a slightly lower open on Wednesday as the latest corporate earnings failed to inspire investors to keep pushing equities higher following six straight days of gains on both the S&P 500 and Nasdaq. Dow Jones industrial average futures were up 0.01 percent at 16,460, S&P 500 futures were down 0.10 percent at 1,872 and Nasdaq 100 futures were down 0.16 percent at 3,579.25.

** SUNPOWER CORP, Tuesday close $29.37, +7.93 pct premarket

The solar panels maker and Google Inc said they will provide financing to support about $250 million of residential solar lease projects. Both companies are investing in the program, with Google committing up to $100 million and SunPower committing about $150 million.

** ERICSSON, Tuesday close $13, -5.31 pct premarket

The world's biggest mobile telecom equipment maker missed first-quarter sales and profit forecasts as its work to rollout faster fourth-generation networks failed to offset the ending of older projects.
