U.S. stock index futures pointed to a lower open on Thursday as jobless claims unexpectedly rose in the most recent week, the latest sign the labor market continues to struggle. Dow Jones industrial average e-mini futures were down 0.44 percent at 16,983, S&P 500 futures were down 0.41 percent at 1,986.75 and Nasdaq 100 futures were down 0.39 percent at 4,077.

The troubled electronics retailer said it may need to file for bankruptcy if its cash situation worsens, after reporting its tenth straight quarterly loss.
UBS AG along with investment firm Standard General LP, is financing a rescue package for RadioShack, Bloomberg reported, quoting three people with knowledge of the matter.
