Wall Street fell sharply for the fourth straight day on Thursday after the Federal Reserve highlighted global growth concerns and as finance stocks declined on speculation that the central bank would not raise interest rates in September.
The Dow Jones industrial average was down 1.20 percent at 17,141.35, the S&P 500 was down 1.08 percent at 2,057.18 and the Nasdaq Composite was down 1.41 percent at 4,948.279.
