** Oil and gas companies' shares rise 2-10 pct as crude prices rise

** Oil prices rose more than 2 percent on Tuesday as higher stock prices on Wall Street and expectations of lower U.S. crude inventories lifted the market from the previous day's slide

** Brent was trading at $48.33/barrel and U.S. crude was at $45.36/barrel at 11:10 a.m. ET

** Big players: The U.S.-listed shares of Petrobras up 3.6 pct, Total SA up 2.5 pct, Royal Dutch Shell Plc up 2 pct

** Biggest gainers: California Resources Corp up 10.73 pct, Bill Barrett Corp up 7.2 pct, Atwood Oceanics Inc up 6 pct

** Oilfield service providers: Helix Energy Solutions Group Inc up 5 pct, McDermott International up 4.5 pct, Key Energy Services Inc up 3.6 pct

** Contract drillers: Transocean Partners LLC up 4.9 pct, Ensco Plc up 4.5 pct, Precision Drilling Corp up 4.5 pct, Helmerich & Payne Inc up 4 pct
