BUZZ-Restaurants: Fast-food workers kick off "Fight for $15" campaign

** Shares of fast-food chain operators down on nationwide protest by fast-food workers, demanding $15 an hour minimum wage and union rights

** Restaurants Brands International Inc’s U.S.-listed shares down 2 pct at $35.01, Yum Brands Inc down 0.7 pct at $68.55, Wendy’s Co down 0.7 pct at $9.34

** Organizers of “Fight for $15” campaign say strikes on Tuesday will be followed by rallies in 500 cities, aimed at gaining candidates’ support heading into the 2016 U.S. presidential election

** Strikes and protests will include workers from McDonald‘s, Wendy‘s, Restaurants Brands-owned Burger King, Yum’s KFC and other restaurants - campaign statement
