BUZZ-U.S. oil, gas stocks up as crude rebounds off 12-year lows

** U.S.-listed shares of oil and gas companies up as crude prices climbed, rebounding off 12-year lows as hopes for easier monetary policy in Europe calmed ailing financial markets

** Benchmark Brent futures for March delivery surged 29 cents, or 1 pct, to $28.17/barrel; WTI crude futures rose 20 cents, or 0.7 pct, to $28.55/barrel

** S&P Energy Index up 2.37 pct
