The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 0.12 percent at 18,591.5, the S&P 500 was down 0.09 percent at 2,183.87 and the Nasdaq Composite was down 0.09 percent at 5,223.679.

** J.C. PENNEY COMPANY INC, $10.13, +1.91 pct

The operator of department stores said its quarterly loss more than halved as the company cut costs and benefited from higher sales of home goods and footwear as well as beauty products at Sephora outlets in its stores.

** NORDSTROM INC, $51.96, +9.25 pct

The department store operator's quarterly comparable store sales fell less than expected, building on buoyant reports from Macy's Inc and Kohl's Corp.

** NVIDIA CORP, $61.62, +3.22 pct

The chipmaker reported its fastest quarterly sales growth in nearly five years, powered by strong demand for the company's processors used in gaming computers and in data centers.

** DILLARD'S INC, $68.84, +3.66 pct

The department store operator's quarterly sales missed analysts' estimate, hurt by weak demand for its home and furniture products.

** ACACIA COMMUNICATIONS INC, $87.485, +29.22 pct

The optical networking company reported quarterly revenue that more than doubled, handily beating the average analyst estimate.

** DELEK U.S. HOLDINGS INC, $15.79, +6.04 pct

CVR Energy Inc, backed by activist investor Carl Icahn, is preparing to make an offer for the company, the New York Post said, citing a source.

** SILICON GRAPHICS INTERNATIONAL CORP, $7.7, +28.76 pct

Hewlett Packard Enterprise agreed to buy the company in a deal valued at $275 million, or $7.75 per share in cash.

** CONCORDIA INTERNATIONAL CORP, $12.36, -24.45 pct

The Canadian drugmaker cut its 2016 revenue and adjusted EBITDA forecast due to increased competition in North America and a strong U.S. dollar.

** PBF LOGISTICS LP, $20.75, -3.22 pct

The pipeline company said it would sell 4 million common units to raise proceeds of about $80.6 million to partly fund a planned acquisition of a 50 percent interest in Torrance Valley Pipeline Company LLC.

** CYCLACEL PHARMACEUTICALS INC, $5.3301, +18.98 pct

The drug developer said it expected to report late-stage data for its lead cancer drug in the fourth quarter. The drug was being tested in a late-stage study in elderly patients with acute myeloid leukemia that are unfit for or have refused intensive chemotherapy, the company said.

** SUNRUN INC, $6.59, +21.81 pct

The solar panel installer reported quarterly revenue of $122.5 million, beating analysts' expectations.

** RUBY TUESDAY INC, $3.31, -11.26 pct

The restaurant chain operator reported lower-than-expected quarterly sales, hurt by a drop in traffic and increased promotions by peers, and said it planned to shut about 95 underperforming restaurants by September. (Compiled by Shalom Aarons in Bengaluru; Editing by Anil D'Silva)
