Sept 12 (Reuters) - U.S. stock index futures were lower for the third straight day on Monday as oil prices fell and on increasing speculation about a possible U.S. interest rate hike as early as next week.

Dow Jones industrial average futures were down 0.20 percent at 18,005, S&P 500 futures were down 0.14 percent at 2,119.75 and Nasdaq 100 futures were down 0.21 percent at 4,661.25.

U.S. banks with international exposure down following global selloff, sparked by concerns global central banks may pull back from monetary policy easing.

Starboard Value LP disclosed a 4.6 percent stake in the generic drugmaker, making the activist investor one of the Dublin-based drugmaker's biggest shareholders.

** RAPTOR PHARMACEUTICAL CORP, Friday close $7.45, +19.87 pct premarket

Horizon Pharma said it has agreed to buy Raptor Pharmaceutical for nearly $800 million to strengthen its portfolio of rare disease drugs.

** POTASH CORP OF SASKATCHEWAN INC, Friday close $16.97, +2.83 pct premarket

Canada's Agrium Inc and Potash Corp said on Monday they would combine to create a fertilizer and farm retailing giant with proforma enterprise value of $36 billion.

** PRAXAIR INC, Friday close $117.41, -1.67 pct premarket

German industrial gases group Linde AG and U.S. rival Praxair Inc have ended talks to create a $60-billion-plus market leader, they said on Monday, after failing to agree where to locate key activities and who would run the business.

** SOLARCITY CORP, Friday close $16.77, +2.86 pct premarket

The solar panel installer, which is being bought by Tesla Motors Inc for $2.6 billion, said on Monday it had raised $305 million to fund its projects.

** HP INC, Friday close $14.07, -0.64 pct premarket

The computer and printer maker said it would buy Samsung Electronics Co Ltd's printer business in a deal valued at $1.05 billion.

** TESLA MOTORS CO, Friday close $194.47, +0.63 pct premarket

The electric-car maker's Chief Executive Elon Musk said on Sunday the automaker was updating its semi-autonomous driving system Autopilot with new limits on hands-off driving and other improvements that likely would have prevented a fatality in May.
