U.S. stock index futures were little changed on Tuesday despite news that international lenders agreed to reduce Greece’s debt, as the market’s focus turned back to the “fiscal cliff”. S&P 500 futures and Dow Jones industrial average futures were down 0.03 percent, while Nasdaq 100 futures were down 0.09 percent.
** ACADIA PHARMACEUTICALS INC, Monday close $2.30, up 165 pct premarket
The biopharmaceutical company said its antipsychotic drug for Parkinson’s disease patients succeeded in meeting the primary goal and key secondary goals of a pivotal late stage clinical trial.
** CONAGRA FOODS Inc, Monday close $28.29
** RALCORP HOLDINGS INC, Monday close $70.23, up 27 pct premarket
Long-time suitor ConAgra Foods finally sealed a deal to buy Ralcorp Holdings for $5 billion to become the biggest private label food company in North America.
**CROCS INC, Monday close $12.75, up 3 pct premarket
Goldman Sachs initiated coverage of the shoemaker with a “buy” rating and price target of $17, according to StreetInsider.com.
** DOLLAR GENERAL CORP, Monday close $51.11, up 3 pct premarket
The discount retailer will join the S&P 500 after the close of trading on Nov. 30, and will replace Cooper Industries Plc , acquired by U.S. industrial manufacturer Eaton Corp .
Citi Investment Research analyst Deborah Weinswig said once added to the S&P 500, passive indexers will need to buy 29.2 million shares, which would drive about 6 percent increase in the stock price.
** GENERAC HOLDINGS INC, Monday close $32.01, up 7 pct aftermarket
The generator maker said late on Monday that it was withdrawing a secondary offering of its shares “due to market conditions”.
Shares of Generac had fallen 7 percent during business hours on Monday after it reported the offering of 11.5 million shares.
** EQUITY RESIDENTIAL, Monday close $54.43, down 3 pct aftermarket
** AVALONBAY COMMUNITIES INC, Monday close $128.95, down 2 pct aftermarket
The real estate investment trust and AvalonBay will buy property group Archstone from Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc for about $6.5 billion.
** THOR INDUSTRIES INC, Monday close $43.60, down 7 pct aftermarket
The recreational vehicle and bus maker reported first-quarter earnings below market expectations as the company’s profit was hurt by discounts implemented to counter a rise in competition in the RV and bus markets.
** HEWLETT-PACKARD, Monday close $12.74
The world’s largest PC maker was sued on Monday by an investor who claimed the company knew statements about its Autonomy acquisition were misleading and led the stock to fall, according to lawyers representing the plaintiff.
** CHINA SUNERGY CO LTD, Monday close $1.18
The solar equipment maker is expected to post its sixth consecutive quarterly loss as panel prices have crashed since the beginning of 2011 due to oversupply and reduced demand. (Compiled by Maria Ajit Thomas in Bangalore)
