July 8 (Reuters) - Some U.S. stocks on the move on Monday:

WALL ST CLIMBS AFTER STRONG DATA, BEFORE ALCOA REPORTS

U.S. stocks rose, putting the S&P 500 on pace for its third straight advance after a robust June payrolls report and before the start of quarterly earnings reports after the market's close. The Dow Jones industrial average rose 0.49 percent, the Standard & Poor's 500 Index gained 0.46 percent and the Nasdaq Composite Index added 0.41 percent.

** DELL INC, $13.41, up 2.91 pct (1115 ET)

Shareholder advisory firm ISS recommended Dell shareholders vote in favor of a $24.4 billion buyout offer for the PC maker from founder and Chief Executive Michael Dell, increasing the odds that his bid will succeed.
