July 22 (Reuters) - A tropical wave accompanied by a surface low pressure system located about 400 miles east-southeast of the Cape Verde islands has a medium, or 30 percent, chance of becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48 hours, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said on Monday.

At present, the system is moving westward at about 15 miles per hour, the NHC said.
