FUTURES SLIP, POINTING TOWARDS WORST WEEK SINCE JUNE
U.S. stock index futures slipped, putting major indexes on track for their worst week since June, as investors found few reasons to buy with equity prices near record levels. S&P 500 futures fell 4.9 points, the Dow Jones industrial average futures slid 40 points and Nasdaq 100 futures lost 6 points.
** BLACKBERRY LTD, Thursday close $9.23, up 9 pct premarket
The Canadian smartphone maker is warming up to the possibility of going private as it battles to revive its fortunes, several sources familiar with the situation said. BlackBerry has recently had discussions with private equity firm Silver Lake Partners about potential collaboration in enterprise computing, one of the sources said.
