S&P 500 futures were up 0.06 percent, Dow Jones industrial average futures were up 0.07 percent and Nasdaq 100 futures were up 0.06 percent.

The biggest U.S. bank by assets posted a profit of $5.82 billion, or $1.42 per share, excluding litigation expense and reserve release. Analysts on average had expected earnings of $1.20 per share, according to Thomson Reuters I/B/E/S. It was not immediately clear if the results and estimates were comparable.

The biggest U.S. mortgage lender reported a 13 percent rise in third-quarter profit after reducing the amount it had previously set aside for bad loans.
