U.S. stock index futures pointed to a higher open on Wednesday after the Republican Party took control of the Senate in the midterm elections, as expected, and following a report on the labor market that was stronger than expected. Dow Jones industrial average futures were up 0.56 percent at 17,402, S&P 500 futures were up 0.62 percent at 2,018 and Nasdaq 100 futures were up 0.67 percent at 4,171.25.
