U.S. stocks were set to rise at the open on Wednesday, boosted by earnings including from Apple and Boeing, while focus could shift later in the day to the Federal Reserve's first two-day policy meeting of the year. Dow Jones industrial average futures were up 0.08 percent at 17,392, S&P 500 futures were up 0.30 percent at 2,036 and Nasdaq 100 futures were up 1.02 percent at 4,220.25.

The iPhone maker's quarterly results smashed Wall Street expectations with record sales of big-screen iPhones in the holiday shopping season and a 70 percent rise in China sales, powering the company to the largest profit in corporate history.
