U.S. stocks held near the unchanged mark on Thursday in the wake of a mixed bag of economic data, with the Dow and the S&P 500 holding just off record highs while the Nasdaq advanced modestly. The Dow Jones industrial average was down 0.08 percent at 18,210.37, the S&P 500 was down 0.13 percent at 2,111.05 and the Nasdaq Composite was up 0.14 percent at 4,974.28.

** CYTORI THERAPEUTICS INC, $1.1377, +58.01 pct

The drug developer said the U.S. FDA agreed to it expanding its late-stage study on its scleroderma cell therapy to 20 centers in the United States from 12.

** PENN VIRGINIA CORP, $6.965, +12.34 pct

The oil and gas producer is looking to sell itself as its stock price has declined, reserves have lost value and biggest shareholder George Soros has urged it to find a buyer, the Wall Street Journal reported.

** NATIONSTAR MORTGAGE HOLDINGS INC,$27.83, -11.06 pct

The Mortgage servicer’s fourth-quarter profit missed average analyst estimate and it said mortgage transfers were “challenging.”

** HARMONY GOLD MINING CO LTD, $2.45, +2.51 pct

** GOLDCORP INC, $21.99, +1.85 pct

** DRDGOLD LTD, $2.03, +3.57 pct

** BARRICK GOLD CORP, $12.91, +1.02 pct

** FIRST MAJESTIC SILVER CORP, $6.13, +2.17 pct

** COEUR MINING INC, $5.66, +2.35 pct

Gold prices rose after comments from the U.S. Federal Reserve pushed back expectations for the first rate hike in the country in nearly a decade. Also, Chinese buyers snapped up the metal on their return from the Lunar New Year break.

** VALE SA, $7.39, -4.15 pct

The Brazillian miner reported a full-year profit well below analysts’ estimates, weighed down by weakness in iron ore prices and the Brazilian currency.

** AMARIN CORP PLC, $1.5499, +6.47 pct

The Irish drugmaker signed an agreement with Eddingpharm to develop and market its blood fat-lowering drug, Vascepa, in China.

** ENSCO PLC, $24.81, -6.66 pct

The offshore driller cut its quarterly dividend to 15 cents per share from 75 cents. Ensco said it would cut jobs at its offshore base as it cold stacks rigs amid “severe downturn” in the drilling market due to weak oil prices.

** SEAWORLD ENTERTAINMENT INC, $19.2, -5.65 pct

The Troubled theme park operator reported a bigger-than-expected fourth-quarter loss. Attendance at the company’s parks falls 2.2 percent to 4.4 million.

** SAREPTA THERAPEUTICS INC, $14.02, -6.47 pct

The drug developer posted a wider-than-expected fourth-quarter loss, hurt by higher costs.

** TRANSOCEAN LTD, $16.18, +0.87 pct

The company reported a higher-than-expected fourth-quarter operating profit, helped by lower expenses and better-than-expected revenue from its floating rigs.

** NEWFIELD EXPLORATION CO, $33.19, -7.81 pct

The oil and gas producer offered 22 million shares, up from 18 million earlier. The company had 137.4 million shares outstanding, according to Thomson Reuters data.

** KOHL‘S CORP, $71.8, +1.27 pct

The department store operator forecast full-year revenue above analysts’ expectations and reported higher-than-expected quarterly profit and sales, helped by demand for apparel and accessories in the holiday shopping season.

** ATOSSA GENETICS INC, $2.32, +45.00 pct

The cancer test maker’s FullCYTE Breast Aspirator, used to collect fluid from breasts for tests, will be sold by unit of Henry Schein Inc.

** COLLABRX INC, $1.4799, -33.64 pct

The cancer data analysis provider priced an offering of 2.4 million shares at $1.27 per share, a 43 percent discount to their Wednesday close. The company had 7.35 million shares outstanding.

** AVAGO TECHNOLOGIES LTD, $127.42, +13.08 pct

** EMULEX CORP, $7.98, +25.47 pct

Avago Technologies offered to buy Emulex for $8 per share in cash, valuing the deal at $606 million. The offer represented a premium of 26 percent to Emulex’s Wednesday close.

** CYBERONICS INC, $71.49, +18.42 pct

The medical device maker has agreed to buy Sorin SpA in an all-stock deal that the Italian company said values it at about $1.4 billion.

** UIL HOLDINGS CORP, $50.84, +20.10 pct

Spanish utility Iberdrola SA will buy UIL Holdings for about $3 billion to create a new listed power and electric utility and expand in the United States.

** BANK OF AMERICA CORP, $16.175, -1.91 pct

The bank on Wednesday said it reached a $300 million settlement of a lawsuit brought by lenders that helped finance construction of the failed Fontainebleau Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, which filed for bankruptcy protection in June 2009.

** FRONTLINE LTD, $2.82, +16.05 pct

Operating profit at the Norwegian tanker firm beat forecasts and the company said it expected earnings to improve further this year, benefiting from an oil glut that has pushed down prices of the commodity.

** SALESFORCE.COM INC, $69.86, +11.12 pct

The cloud software company raised its full-year revenue forecast, betting on strong demand for its web-based sales and marketing software and services.

** BALLARD POWER SYSTEMS INC, $2.42, -11.68 pct

The fuel cell maker reported a bigger fourth-quarter loss and lower revenue, hurt by lower-than-expected sales in its telecom backup power business and termination of licensing contracts in China.

** MAGNEGAS CORP, $0.95, +11.76 pct

Two Rivers Demolition Inc, a Northern California-based provider of demolition services, chose MagneGas for fuel for its demolition project.

** TASER INTERNATIONAL INC, $23.2, -14.23 pct

The stun gun and wearable camera maker reported a lower-than-expected fourth-quarter profit, hurt by increased costs.

** LKQ CORP, $24.295, -12.76 pct

The vehicle parts supplier reported a lower-than-expected fourth-quarter profit and revenue, hurt by falling scrap metal prices and a stronger dollar.

** WALTER INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT CORP, $20.77, -8.30 pct

The mortgage servicer reported a fourth-quarter adjusted loss of 6 cents per share compared with market estimates of a profit of 63 cents. Total revenue fell 21 percent, hurt by a decline in servicing fees.

** POPEYES LOUISIANA KITCHEN INC,$61, -7.90 pct

The quick-service restaurant chain operator said it expects same-store sales growth of 3.5-4.5 percent for 2015 compared with a 6.2 percent rise in the previous year.

** BARNES & NOBLE INC, $25.82, +6.47 pct

The bookseller said it would spin off its college bookstore unit to focus on its retail business. The spinoff is expected to be completed by the end of August.

** 3D SYSTEMS CORP, $31.41, +4.63 pct

The 3D printer maker’s quarterly revenue jumped 21 percent.

** SEARS HOLDINGS CORP, $35.01, -7.63 pct

The owner of Sears department stores reported a narrower quarterly loss as it continued to slash costs and said it would launch a planned property trust by June, raising at least $2 billion for the struggling U.S. retailer.

** TOWN SPORTS INTERNATIONAL HOLDINGS INC, $7.19, +6.52 pct

The fitness club owner said its board was evaluating a sale of the company and retained Deutsche Bank Securities Inc to assist the process.

** CLEAN DIESEL TECHNOLOGIES INC, $2.06, +3.52 pct

Cowen and Co started coverage of the emission control system maker’s stock with an “outperform” rating and set a target price of $3, saying the company was able to make cheaper catalysts used in emission control systems.

** NOBLE ENERGY INC, $47.91, -3.81 pct

The oil and gas producer plans a public offering of 21 million shares. The company had 362 million shares outstanding.

** NORTH ATLANTIC DRILLING LTD, $1.56, -7.14 pct

A $480.6 mln goodwill impairment charge pushed the rig contractor to a fourth-quarter even as revenue slid 18 percent and costs tripled.

** MOBILEYE NV, $35.7, +1.16 pct

The driver-assistance system maker posted fourth-quarter revenue and profit above estimates, helped by strong demand for its camera-based systems that help drivers avoid collisions.

** WESTERN REFINING INC, $46.43, +6.39 pct

The company reported a better-than-expected adjusted quarterly profit on Thursday as lower crude oil prices helped improve refining margins.

** GENETIC TECHNOLOGIES LTD, $6.65, +3.58 pct
