Dow Jones industrial average futures were down 0.07 percent at 17,897, S&P 500 futures were down 0.14 percent at 2,083.5 and Nasdaq 100 futures were down 0.10 percent at 4,399.

** ALCATEL-LUCENT SA, Monday close $4.35, +8.28 pct premarket

Nokia is in talks to buy smaller telecom equipment maker Alcatel-Lucent, a deal that would combine the industry’s two weakest players but could pose challenges in cutting costs and overcoming political opposition.

** MYLAN N.V, Monday close $68.56, +0.51 pct premarket

** PFIZER INC, Monday close $35.09, +0.06 pct premarket

Mylan said it settled a patent litigation with Pfizer related to Viagra, paving the way for the launch of the drug’s generic version in the United States once approved.

** BANK OF AMERICA CORP, Monday close $15.8, +0.51 pct premarket

JPMorgan, the biggest U.S. bank by assets, reported a 12.2 percent rise in quarterly profit as revenue from fixed-income trading rebounded.

The largest U.S. mortgage lender reported a 2.6 percent fall in quarterly profit on Tuesday as expenses rose and the bank set aside more money to cover bad loans.

Citigroup is looking for a buyer for its retail forex brokerage, CitiFX Pro, as part of efforts to streamline the banking world’s biggest currency trading operation, a source familiar with the situation told Reuters on Tuesday.

Several shareholders of chipmaker Altera, including Cadian Capital Management and TIG Advisors, have urged the company to resume takeover talks with Intel, Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the matter.

** BRAINSTORM CELL THERAPEUTICS INC, Monday close $4.6, +13.26 pct premarket

The drugmaker said it expects to present positive data from a mid-stage study of its treatment for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a neurological disease that weakens muscles and impacts physical function.

** GW PHARMACEUTICALS PLC, Monday close $96.18, +7.09 pct premarket

The drugmaker’s childhood epilepsy drug, epidiolex, currently in use through an expanded access program, showed marked improvement in median reduction of seizure frequency, data compiled by American Society Of Neurology shows.

** AETERNA ZENTARIS INC, Monday close $0.5385, +3.99 pct premarket

Analysts at HC Wainwright raise rating on the drug developer’s stock to “buy” from “neutral” after the company says it plans to conduct a confirmatory study on hormone deficiency drug-test after meeting with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Imperial Capital raises rating on the energy-focused construction company’s stock to “outperform” from “in-line”.

** NORFOLK SOUTHERN CORP, Monday close $104.87, -5.22 pct premarket

At least four brokerages cut their price targets on the U.S. railroad company by as much as $10 to as low as $105. Norfolk said on Monday that it expected first-quarter EPS to fall 15 percent and revenue to drop 5 percent due to reduced fuel surcharge revenue and lower coal volumes.

The e-commerce company and publisher HarperCollins have reached a new multi-year publishing deal that covers both print and digital titles, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing HarperCollins.

The Israeli drug developer said it obtained rights to use certain biological systems and materials developed by the U.S. National Institutes of Health.
