Dow Jones industrial average futures were up 0.65 percent at 17,875, S&P 500 futures were up 0.46 percent at 2,088.5 and Nasdaq 100 futures were up 0.35 percent at 4,423.75.

The business networking website operator slashed its full-year profit forecast, citing slower revenue growth at its hiring business and a delay in recognizing the contribution of lynda.com, the online education company it has agreed to buy.

Intel signed a standstill agreement earlier this year with Altera that expires on June 1, giving the world's largest chipmaker the option to launch a hostile bid after that, according to sources familiar with the matter.
