Dow Jones industrial average futures were up 0.85 percent at 17,139, S&P 500 futures were up 0.94 percent at 2,007.5 and Nasdaq 100 futures were up 1.11 percent at 4,332.75.

U.S. pipeline companies Williams Cos and Energy Transfer Equity have clashed publicly over ETE’s efforts to finance its $14 billion takeover of Williams.

** ULTA SALON COSMETICS, Thursday close $163.39, +13.23 pct premarket

The beauty product retailer forecast first-quarter sales of $1.02 billion-$1.03 billion compared with analysts’ estimate of $1.01 billion.

** VERICEL CORP, Thursday close $3.95, +13.67 pct premarket

The drugmaker said its experimental drug reduced death, hospitalizations and emergency visits in patients, who are at risk of a heart failure, in a mid-stage study, sending its shares up 80 percent in premarket trading.

The network equipment maker reported third-quarter profit above analysts’ estimates, helped partly by higher gross margin.
