TORONTO Oct 24 (Reuters) - Canada's main stock index turned negative on Wednesday as weakness in the resource sectors outweighed gains by Canadian Pacific Railway Ltd and Rogers Communications Inc after both companies reported higher quarterly profits.

The Toronto Stock Exchange's S&P/TSX composite index was down 9.08 points, or 0.07 percent, at 12,216.76.
