TORONTO (Reuters) - Canadian business-software maker OpenText Corp said on Monday its Chief Executive Mark Barrenechea has been diagnosed with leukemia, and that he will reduce his involvement in the day-to-day operations while he undergoes treatment over the next three months.
Waterloo, Ontario-based OpenText, whose software helps companies manage documents and workflows, said a CEO operating committee has been established to assist in the management of the company's day-to-day operations while Barrenechea receives treatment.
In addition to Barrenechea, the committee will consist of John Doolittle, who is OpenText's chief financial officer, and Gordon Davies, its chief legal officer.
