Canada's Alberta says royalty review to be announced within days
CALGARY, Alberta (Reuters) - The Canadian province of Alberta, the largest source of U.S. oil imports, will soon announce a review of royalty rates paid to the government by its energy industry, its environment minister said on Thursday.
Shannon Phillips, the environment minister for the province's new left-leaning government, did not say when the review would start but indicated it would be announced "within coming days" as she announced new greenhouse gas reduction targets.
