Ducks forward Corey Perry out for six weeks
MIAMI (Reuters) - Anaheim Ducks forward Corey Perry will be sidelined for about six weeks after sustaining a deep cut to his right leg in Thursday's 1-0 defeat by the Colorado Avalanche.
"Corey is doing very well thanks to the medical staffs of both clubs," said Ducks general manager Brian Burke in a statement on Friday.
"His injury is not career-threatening and we expect him back 100 percent in approximately six weeks."
Perry needed surgery after being cut above the right knee by Colorado goaltender Jose Theodore's skate midway through the third period.
The Ducks are fifth in the Western Conference.
