Arguing on highway gets Canadian couple run over
VANCOUVER, British Columbia (Reuters) - A heated argument between a man and woman got them both killed, and sparked a multi-car crash, after they took their fight onto a busy highway, Canadian police said on Friday.
The man and woman were fighting in a taxi as they drove down the TransCanada Highway on Thursday, when the woman told the driver to stop at the side of the road. She then got out of the vehicle, followed by her companion.
The two, who were both believed to be drunk, were hit almost immediately by several vehicles and killed.
The incident in Chilliwack, British Columbia, about 100 km (60 miles) from the Pacific Coast city of Vancouver, caused about a dozen cars to hit each other or the couple, but there were no other injuries, police said.
