OTTAWA (Reuters) - The Supreme Court of Canada will announce at 4:30 p.m. EDT on Friday whether it has decided to approve the C$34.8 billion ($34.5 billion) leveraged buyout of the country's largest telecommunications company, BCE Inc.
The court made the announcement in a statement on Thursday that gave no further details.
BCE is appealing a lower court decision that found that the buyout plan -- which will be funded partly by taking on new debt -- did not adequately take into account the interests of existing bondholders.
