Pickets stop work for a day at Potash Corp mine

WINNIPEG, Manitoba (Reuters) - Unionized workers have stopped operations at Potash Corp’s Cory mine on Monday, a company official said, but a United Steelworkers spokeswoman said the strike would last only one day as part of an effort to restart talks.

Both Potash Corp and the Steelworkers have suggested mediators to help negotiations, but proposed names have not been accepted, spokespersons for both sides said in interviews.
