TORONTO (Reuters) - Toronto’s main stock index fell more than 1 percent on Friday in broad-based weakness, as economic worries weighed on nearly all sectors.

The S&P/TSX composite index unofficially closed down 99.81 points, or 1.14 percent, at 8,662.95. Eight of the TSX’s 10 main groups were lower, including the three most weighty sectors -- energy, materials, and financials.
