Canada puts C$145 million into auto industry R&D

TORONTO (Reuters) - The Canadian government announced C$145 million ($121 million) in funding on Thursday for automotive research and development.

Industry Minister Tony Clement made the announcement and said the money was committed as part of the 2008 federal budget.
