L‘AQUILA, Italy (Reuters) - Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper said on Wednesday that current stimulus packages must be delivered before there can be talk of new stimulus plans.

“Before there is talk of additional stimulus, I would urge all leaders to focus first on making sure the stimulus that has been announced actually gets delivered,” he told reporters just before the start of the G8 summit in central Italy.

“That has been our focus in Canada and I would encourage the same priority elsewhere,” he said.

On the environment, government spokesman Dimitri Soudas said concrete reduction in greenhouse gas emissions required emerging and developing countries to get on board first.
