British Columbia OKs 4 more clean power projects

VANCOUVER (Reuters) - British Columbia gave the green light to four private-sector clean energy projects on Wednesday with a generating capacity to supply nearly 40,000 homes.

BC Hydro said the four projects, with a combined annual capacity of 445 gigawatt hours, are in addition to the 19 approved in early March under the provincially owned utility’s clean-energy plan.

The four are: AltaGas Ltd’s planned waste heat plant in Sparwood, two small hydro facilities in Squamish by Enmax-Synataris Corp and Run of River Inc, and Sea Breeze Energy Inc’s Knob Will wind farm in Port Hardy.
