CALGARY, Alberta (Reuters) - Enbridge Inc will ration space on its Spearhead pipeline in March, allowing just 16.6 percent of nominated volumes onto the line.
Spearhead, which runs from near Chicago to the storage hub at Cushing, Oklahoma, will handle 157,405 barrels per day this month, down from its nominal capacity of 190,000 bpd.
Space on pipelines is rationed, or apportioned, when shippers indicate they want to put more oil on the line than it is able to carry.
Enbridge spokesman Larry Springer also said in an email that the company’s Ozark pipeline, which runs from Cushing to Wood River, Illinois, is not apportioned in March but is running full at 232,425 bpd.
