Flaherty to name date for federal budget shortly
OTTAWA (Reuters) - Finance Minister Jim Flaherty said on Wednesday that he will "in a couple of hours" announce the date for the next federal budget, a spending plan that could prompt a federal election if opposition parties vote it down.
Most political observers expect the budget to be presented in late March, probably on March 22. March 29 and March 31 have also been tipped as possible dates.
