Canadian military jets join Libya air patrols

OTTAWA (Reuters) - Canadian military jets flew their first missions over Libya on Monday as part of the U.N.-mandated intervention, officials said.

Four CF18 fighter jets and two tankers conducted a patrol off northern Libya, but did not fire shots at any targets, Defense Minister Peter MacKay told reporters in Ottawa.
