Cott sues JLB, Decas Botanical over patents
(Reuters) - Cott Corp said it filed a civil lawsuit against JLB Inc and Decas Botanical Synergies, saying four patents owned by JLB were invalid.
The patents, which relate to the processing of cranberries for non-alcoholic beverages, have been licensed by JLB to Massachusetts-based Decas Botanical Synergies.
"We are confident that we do not infringe any of these patents and do not believe that these patents licensed to Decas are valid," Douglas Lynch, vice president of the company's Star PhytoNutrients division said in a statement.
