LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - "Dawson's Creek" veteran Joshua Jackson is returning to television as the male lead in "Fringe," a high-profile Fox sci-fi drama pilot shooting in Toronto.

The two-hour $10 million pilot centers on an FBI agent (played by Anna Torv) who teams with Jackson's character -- a high-school dropout with an IQ of 190 -- and his estranged father (John Noble), to confront the spread of unexplained phenomena.

Jackson, recently seen in Emilio Estevez's ensemble drama "Bobby," returns to theaters March 22 in Fox's "Shutter."
