LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - "Desperate Housewives" actor Gale Harold, who plays the new boyfriend of Teri Hatcher's character Susan Mayer, was in critical condition on Wednesday after being injured in a motorcycle accident.

Harold, 39, who plays Jackson Braddock in the popular drama comedy, was reported to be in intensive care in a Los Angeles hospital. A hospital spokeswoman said his condition was critical but declined to describe his injuries.

Harold's publicist said the actor had suffered a fractured shoulder in an accident on Tuesday and was expected to make a full recovery.

Harold was a regular in "Queer as Folk" and "Vanished" before joining the cast of "Desperate Housewives" in its 5th season that started airing in September and which leaps the Wisteria Lane housewives five years into the future.
