NEW YORK (Hollywood Reporter) - How's "The View" from the top? The 12-year-old ABC chatfest scored its highest viewership ever with the first episode after last Tuesday's election.

The show averaged 6.2 million viewers, Nielsen Media Research said. It cleared the previous record by a million viewers.

"The View" won the week in all of daytime TV and was the top daytime program in women aged 18-49 (along with CBS' "The Young and the Restless") for the second time. The first was the previous week, ABC said.

For the week, "The View" averaged 4.7 million viewers. It was also tied for the lead with 1 million women 18-49, tied with "The Young and the Restless."
