LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Fox has set a premiere date for its Osbourne family show, giving the comedy project a lead-in from "American Idol."

"Osbournes: Reloaded" will debut Tuesday, March 31. The show will take the spot of "Fringe" for a one-time airing, then run as a series of one-hour specials later in the season.

The move suggests the network may want to gauge reaction to the program before committing a regular spot on the schedule, or simply that Fox wants the show to benefit once from heavy "Idol" sampling.

"Osbournes" originally was billed as a variety show, but Fox considers it more of an unscripted comedy. The show will feature audience interaction, such as betting somebody to kiss a stranger, and offstage segments that might, for example, involve Osbourne family members working at a fast food drive-thru.
