TORONTO (Hollywood Reporter) - Canadian broadcasters have banded together to precede their Friday night telecast of MTV's "Hope For Haiti Now" telethon with their own homegrown earthquake relief fund-raiser.
The CBC, CTV and Global Television networks will air a one-hour "Canada For Haiti" telethon at 7 p.m., ahead of MTV Networks' star-studded two-hour event at 8 p.m.
The "Hope For Haiti Now" telethon, to be hosted by George Clooney, Wyclef Jean and CNN's Anderson Cooper, will also air in Canada on the MTV, MuchMusic and the National Geographic Channel services.
Canadian media groups have also staged fund-raisers and appeals via radio, newspapers and online platforms to raise money for rescue and reconstruction efforts in Haiti.
