LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Hot off a career resurgence that began with last year's comedy feature film "The Proposal," 88-year-old Betty White continues her streak with a visit to U.S. television show "Community."

White will guest star on the sophomore season premiere of the Thursday-night comedy on the NBC network. She'll play professor June Bauer, an esteemed, albeit slightly unhinged, anthropology professor.

White's appearance is sure to give a boost to the well-liked comedy, which is airing against CBS' top-rated "Big Bang Theory" this fall.

In January, White received the 2010 SAG Lifetime Achievement Award, and she hosted "Saturday Night Live" this past spring. Meanwhile, her sitcom on cable network TV Land, "Hot in Cleveland," was renewed for a second season.

This fall, White will appear in the movie "You Again," starring Kristin Bell.
