LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - A man accused of trying to break into Paris Hilton's Los Angeles home while wielding two large knives was charged on Thursday with attempted residential burglary, the District Attorney's office said.

Nathan Lee Parada, 31, was arrested early on Tuesday after the socialite was awakened by someone banging on her windows and called police.

She posted a photo on her Twitter page of police outside her house and a man in handcuffs.

The Los Angeles Police Department said it did not know if Hilton was specifically targeted. If convicted, Parada faces up to six years in prison, the District Attorney's office.
