LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Conan O'Brien is taking his longtime sidekick Andy Richter with him to his new late night talk show.
Cable TV channel TBS said on Tuesday that Richter would join O'Brien's new venture when it makes it debut next month.
The two first began working together in 1993 on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien," and Richter, an actor and writer, also appeared with O'Brien's during his short-lived stint as host of the "The Tonight Show" last year.
Richter said he was thrilled to be working with O'Brien again on the new show, adding; "However, I am mostly looking forward to getting out of the house again."
O'Brien quipped in a statement, "This decision was made without my authority. I will get to the bottom of this."
"Conan" debuts on TBS on November 8.
