NEW YORK (Reuters) - Reality television star and mother of eight Kate Gosselin will have her own TV show called "Twist of Kate" on U.S. cable network TLC, the Discovery owned channel announced on Thursday.
In the new show, Gosselin will visit the homes and workplaces of ordinary Americans and dispense ideas and tips for better living.
She'll "walk a mile in someone else's shoes," the network said and "roll up her sleeves and see what she can do to help." The show will premier in August 2010, TLC said.
Gosselin, newly single after a highly publicized divorce with former husband and reality TV co-star Jon, told USA today, "I want to be out there learning from others, helping to provide insight whenever I can, though I don't consider myself an expert on anything."
Gosselin is currently one of the seven remaining finalists on the hit ABC show "Dancing with the Stars." She was propelled to fame --and onto many gossip pages -- by the reality TV show "Jon & Kate Plus Eight." It portrayed the hectic family life of the couple as they raised sextuplets and a pair of twins. It ran for five seasons and came to an end after the couple separated.
The network also said it would air "Kate plus 8," starting in June, a show about her life with 8 children --minus her former husband.
