Dow Jones industrial average futures were up 0.32 percent at 17,773, S&P 500 futures were up 0.31 percent at 2,084.5 and Nasdaq 100 futures were up 0.29 percent at 4,656.5.

** MACY‘S INC, Tuesday close $47.02, -8.55 pct premarket

The department store operator reported its third straight quarter of sales decline as customers cut back on spending and a strong dollar reduced spending by tourists. The company also said it would not pursue formation of a real estate investment trust at this time.

** HORIZON PHARMA PLC, Tuesday close $22.38, -16.67 pct premarket

** DEPOMED INC, Tuesday close $21.21, -6.84 pct premarket

Express Scripts Holding Co has removed pharmacy Linden Care from its network after finding it primarily dispensed drugs from Horizon, under fire for high prices. Horizon said less than 5 percent of its net sales are from prescriptions filled by Linden Care and processed by Express Scripts. The largest U.S. manager of prescription drug plans also sued Horizon seeking to recover around $140 million from the company’s U.S. unit, citing its failure to comply with contracted rebate obligations.

Meanwhile, shares of Depomed also moved on the news, as the company continues to push against Horizon’s repeated takeover attempts.

** AMIRA NATURE FOODS LTD, Tuesday close $5.14, +29.38 pct premarket

The specialty rice packager said an independent investigation concluded that allegations regarding company’s finances are unsubstantiated and/or unfounded. Short-seller Prescience Point had accused Amira of fabricating SEC filings, alleging it was “vastly overstating” revenue and forging inventory data.

** JC PENNEY CO INC, Tuesday close $8.68, +6.68 pct premarket

The department store chain’s same-store store sales rose 6.4 percent in Q3, its strongest growth in at least 8 years. Penney, which reports its Q3 results on Friday, said its quarterly gross margin and earnings performance “exceeded expectations”.

** BOOT BARN HOLDINGS INC, Tuesday close $14.82, -13.97 pct premarket

The footwear, apparel and accessories retailer reported on Tuesday lower-than-expected Q2 sales, hurt by softness in its Sheplers business, which makes cowboy attire for both men and women.

** ALARM.COM HOLDINGS INC, Tuesday close $14.57, +11.53 pct premarket

The company, which allows users to remotely control their security systems through a cloud-based platform, reported better-than-expected Q3 revenue and profit, helped by higher sales from SaaS and license revenue business

** EVERYDAY HEALTH INC, Tuesday close $10.05, -26.97 pct premarket

The health and wellness information provider forecast Q4 total revenue below the average analyst estimate, and posted smaller-than-expected Q3 adjusted profit, hurt by higher costs.

** ALIBABA GROUP HOLDINGS LTD, Tuesday close $81.43, +1.19 pct premarket

The Chinese e-commerce giant said on Wednesday the value of merchandise it has sold so far during the Singles’ Day online shopping extravaganza had surpassed last year’s total of $9.3 billion.

** MOLSON COORS, Tuesday close $88.31, -0.35 pct premarket

Anheuser-Busch InBev, the world’s biggest brewer, launched its $100 billion-plus offer for nearest rival SABMiller on Wednesday and agreed to sell the latter’s stake in U.S. venture MillerCoors to help win regulatory approval. AB InBev has also reached an agreement to sell SABMiller’s 58 percent stake in U.S. joint venture MillerCoors to the venture’s other shareholder, Denver-based Molson Coors, for $12 billion.

Regional TV broadcaster Media General’s board is leaning toward deciding that Nexstar’s offer is likely to be better for shareholders than its existing agreement to buy diversified media company Meredith Corp, Bloomberg reported, citing people with knowledge of the matter.

** EMC CORP, Tuesday close $25.25, -0.59 pct premarket

Dell Inc’s $67 billion offer to buy data storage company EMC could be derailed by a tax bill of up to $9 billion, technology news website Re/code reported on Tuesday, citing sources familiar with the matter.

** ANADARKO PETROLEUM CORP, Tuesday close $63.42, +0.11 pct premarket

** APACHE CORP, Tuesday close $53.31

U.S. oil and gas exploration and production company Anadarko Petroleum has approached Apache with a potential acquisition as low crude oil prices prompt companies to seek merger partners, according to a person familiar with the matter.

Apple is to hire an additional 1,000 staff in Ireland, the government said on Wednesday, as the iPhone maker bids to boost its presence in the country where it declares much of its overseas profit for tax purposes.

Influential short-seller Citron Research’s Andrew Left, who accused Mallinckrodt of being an offender of the reimbursement system, told CNBC on Tuesday that he has a short position on the company’s stock.

The company said it was exploring strategic options for its Intellectual Property & Science business, which generated revenue of about $1 billion last year.

Anglo-German chipmaker Dialog Semiconductor said it was sticking with its plan to buy U.S. peer Atmel, rebuffing activist hedge fund Elliott, which is seeking to rally co-shareholders to vote against the acquisition.

The airplane maker said it has dropped GKN PLC GKN.L as the supplier for its 737 MAX jetliner, while it reaffirmed its expectation for delivery of the jet to customers beginning in 2017.

** T-MOBILE US INC, Tuesday close $37.03, +2.21 pct premarket

The company said on Tuesday it will give customers a new option to stream video from services including Netflix Inc on their mobile devices without having it count against their data plans.

** ELBIT SYSTEMS, Tuesday close $80.36, +2.04 pct premarket

The Israeli defence electronics firm reported a higher quarterly profit, boosted by higher sales, a growing order backlog and favourable exchange rates.

** OPOWER INC, Tuesday close $9.82
